The City Park \u2013 right in the heart of Waldkirchen<\/h1>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The beautifully landscaped city park \u2013 the city\u2019s green lung \u2013 is situated east of the city center, underneath the \u201aGymnasium\u2019 and primary school, just a few minutes walk from the market place. This park was newly created in 2007 in the course of the regional garden and flower festival.<\/p>\n

The water stairs<\/strong> lead you to the center of the park: a small pond surrounded by cozy enclosures<\/strong>: come and sit down, have a break and listen to the soothing sounds.\u00a0<\/strong>A boardwalk<\/strong> takes you around the pond. Directly above you\u2019ll find the so-called \u2018Platz an der Sonne\u2019 (lit. place in the sun) and a granite boat<\/strong> from Ischia, which is heading for it. This ensemble emblematizes the twinning between the city of Waldkirchen and the community of Serrara Fontana in Italy.<\/p>\n

Oversized glass flowers<\/strong> guide the way to the Magic Carpet of Bionics<\/strong>, a curved and bouncing wooden deck spanned by \u2018wings\u2019 where your gaze is cast over the unspoilt natural landmark \u201eGsteinet<\/strong>\u201c. Passing the water playground \u201eGoldstrand\u201c<\/strong> (means golden sands) you will reach an area called Fashion and Gardens<\/strong>, which brings big city flair to Waldkirchen.<\/p>\n

Especially the little ones will get excited about the playground \u201ebodenlos\u201c<\/strong> (lit. bottomless), whereas the \u201abig ones\u2019 will be attracted by the Wolkensteg<\/strong>, a paraphrase for \u2018runway into the clouds\u2019, where you are invited to a relaxing rest on Bavaria\u2019s longest bench. There you can enjoy a fantastic view of the perennial herbs and summer flower beds<\/strong> and of the rolling mountain ridges of the Bavarian Forest.<\/p>\n
